Alec (he/him) is a second-year student at Sacramento City College where he is pursuing a major in Political Science and Public Policy. Alec brings a wealth of leadership experience to his role, having served as Legislative Affairs Director for Region II and as Vice President of Legislative Affairs for the Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC). At Sacramento City College, he also held the position of Director of Legislative Affairs for the Associated Students where he championed fair compensation for trade students in apprenticeships and internships, testified before Higher Education Committee hearings, and organized the most successful Lobby Day in the history of the Los Rios Community College District.

Currently, Alec is a Legislative/Association Management Intern at one of California’s top 10 advocacy firms. His experience spans all levels of government including internships with the Mayor of West Sacramento and the Armenian National Committee of America in Washington D.C. Beyond his academic and professional commitments, Alec leads the Sacramento “Lori” Homenetmen Scouting Troop where he mentors over 40 Armenian youth in cultural preservation and outdoor survival skills.

When he is not in class or at work, you will likely find Alec at the Capitol Annex Swing Space or the gym. Passionate about sustainable policy, Alec is dedicated to advocating for initiatives that improve the lives of all Californians, especially students. He is committed to empowering students to engage in sustainability efforts and inspiring the next generation of leaders to shape California’s future in climate policy and beyond.
